Clarence Ray Brown, 69, of Du Quoin, passed away at 7:25 P.M., Friday, March 4, 2005 at his residence.
Clarence was a retired dragline operator with the coal mines. Clarence had worked for Peabody Coal Co., Amax Mine and Arch of Illinois and West Virginia. He was a member of the Du Quoin Church of God and the UMWofA.
He was born August 14, 1935 at Eldorado, the son of Garland and Lillian (Gore) Brown.
He married Wanda L. Koster on May 8, 1955 at Corinth, MS and she survives.
He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, daughter- Teri DiRico and husband Tony of Atlanta, Ga., son- Rodney Brown of Du Quoin, three brothers- Jimmy Brown and wife Kathelyn of California, John Brown and wife Kristy of Harrisburg, Phillip Brown and wife Ollie of Eldorado, four sisters- Dorothy Hutchison of Jerseyville, Charlene Martin and husband Jack of Eldorado, Rita Bruce and husband Bernard of Eldorado, Joann Ward and husband Joe of Florida, grandchildren- Daren & Keyma Pabst, Leslie Pabst, Tyler DiRico, Kaleb DiRico, Josh Brown, Zachary Brown, great granddaughter- Addison Rose, sisters-in-law- Donna Brown of Galatia, Betty Gee of Florida and Ethel White and husband John of Gary, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter- Tina Lynn Pabst, two brothers- Clem and Roy Brown, one sister, one brother-in-law- Rev. Mickey Hutchison.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 8, 2005 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Brian Mixon, Rev. Jamie Karales and Rev. Cory Respondik officiating.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 P.M. Monday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Interment will be in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.
